USAlert NP35 Numeric Programmer

The USAlert NP35 Pager Programmer consists of a programming fixture labeled UB-08, a standard USB cable, and NP35 programming software. The USB cable connects to an operational USB port on the computer and to the NP35 programming fixture. Once attached, the green power LED on the fixture near the USB connection should light. The NP35 programming software is also used to program the USAlert Alpha 2 and NP40 pagers. The NP35 is designated as “J8” in the software, the Alpha 2 as “J25” and the NP40 as “J7”.

Manufacturer: USAlert

Install and run the latest version of the programming software.  A screen showing “J8 Programmer” should appear and must be clicked on to select the correct pager to program.  When the “Configure” button is pressed, the initial programming screen should show “USB programmer connected” and “NO PAGER” at the bottom left of the display.  Configure the programming software for the desired pager settings.

Since the programming connections for the NP35 Pager are in its battery compartment, the pager is programmed or read with the battery door open and no battery present.  The NP35 is positioned over the seven programming pins on the fixture with the pager at a slight angle to account for the battery door fitting into the bottom of the fixture.  Press the pager down into place and ensure the “Write” and “Read” buttons in the programming software are active.  The “NO PAGER” indication should change to “PAGER INSERTED”.  Continue holding the NP35 in place to perform the programming.
