The NP35 can be programmed in any of three ways. Basic features like changing frequency, editing capcodes, and enabling/disabling capcodes can be programmed from the front panel of the pager by the user if allowed (Hand Programming). Programming a few more features can be accomplished by sending an Over-the-Air (OTA) message containing information on turning off the pager, changing the current time, deleting all messages, or enabling/disabling individual addresses and functions. Other OTA features include changing the alert mode, baud rate, or capcode of address 1. All features can be configured through the pager’s programming software package as the third programming option.
There are 4 user selectable alerting modes in the NP35 - Beep, Vibrate, Beep + Vibrate, and Mute. In the programming software, the Vibrate alert can be selected to be Continuous, Pulsate, or Synchronize. Audio alerts can be set to either “ABCD + Music 1-8” or “Tone + Music 1-8”. If the user is allowed to select alert tones and the programming software is set to “ABCD + Music 1-8”, 4 tone sequences and 8 musical tones can be selected as the Beep or Beep + Vibrate alert from the pager’s control buttons. If the software is set to “Tone + Music 1-8”, a standard alert tone and the 8 musical tones are the available selections. Alert lengths can be programmed to 8 or 16 seconds.
Incoming messages are date and time stamped and can be protected. NP35 status indicator icons include Vibrate Alert, Beeping Alert, Unread Message, Duplicate Message, Message Locked, Message continues on next page, Out of Range, Low Battery, and Daily Alarm ON. The NP35 is RoHS environmentally compliant.
