The Rechargeable Battery is a Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) design and is rated at 3.7 VDC and 1300 mA. A fully charged Birdy 3G battery can be expected to operate for approximately 520 hours in the POCSAG mode, depending upon network configuration and usage. If using GSM, about 80 hours of operation can be expected. If also using the GPS feature, operational time is estimated to be about 60 hours.
Small electronic devices like pagers commonly use Li-Ion batteries for their power source because of their light weight, high power output and low discharge rate. Battery life can be considerable, but all rechargeable batteries will eventually deteriorate over time and should be replaced at regular intervals. If peak pager performance is seen to be reduced or operational issues start to appear, consider a new rechargeable battery as a solution to the problem.
