WiPath “LED Config” software is used to create and format the message. Various colors, fonts, and styles can be used in any combination to get the desired message look. A single color scheme can be used with red, green, yellow brown, or amber as some of the possible selections. Multiple color mixes are also a selectable option. A wide range of fonts allow the user to adjust the character size, width, and shading to display the wanted effect. Alignment can be set to left, center, or right, and message speed can be set to normal, slow, slower, faster, or fastest. Over 25 different styles are available for adding movement to the LED message. Some descriptive names include Roll Left, Roll Right, Wipe Down, Rotate, Snow, Starburst, and Slide. Once complete, the message can be paused for up to 9 seconds before starting again.
After selecting the options for the message, the “LED Config” software allows the user to upload the formatted message to the LED sign directly through the computer interface. Since the WL780T also has an integrated paging receiver, the formatted message can also be uploaded by sending an alphanumeric message through a local or wide-area paging system. Configuring the sign for frequency, baud rate, capcodes, and other paging parameters is accomplished through the WiPath “PDT3P” software program. Multiple deployed signs with the same paging configuration can be updated with a single page.
