The message to be displayed on the WL780DST sign is configured using the WiPath “LEDConfig” software package. A number of font configurations are available for setting the character height, width, and shading. Colors like red, green, orange, yellow brown, and amber among others can be selected individually, or a combination of colors can be mixed. A personal style can be configured from over 25 individual styles, with some of the descriptive names being “Roll Left”, “Roll In”, “Wipe Down”, “Slide”, “Snow”, “Sparkle”, and “Spray”. The message can be set to move at five different speeds and can be aligned at the left, center, or right. Once the message completes, it can be paused for up to 9 seconds before starting again.
Uploading the configured message to the LED sign can be accomplished in either of two ways. While using the “LEDConfig” software to create the message on a local PC, the message can be uploaded directly to the sign through the computer interface. Configuring the sign with paging parameters like frequency, baud rate, and capcodes allows a deployed sign or signs at remote locations to have their messages updated via the paging network. The WiPath “PDT3P” (Paging Data Terminal 3000 Programming) software is used to configure the WL780DST LED sign for paging capability.
