The NP88 Programmer is setup by connecting the serial cable to an available COM port on the computer and also to the programming fixture. Connect the adapter to an active power source and the fixture. Install and run either the POCSAG or FLEX version of the programming software, depending upon the coding format used by the pager.
The programming contacts of the NP88 Pager are in its battery compartment, so the pager’s battery cover must be removed and no battery installed. The NP88 belt clip will fit into the programming fixture and does not need to be removed. The pager is positioned over the four programming pins and aligned with the belt clip outline at the bottom of the fixture. Lock the latching arm in place to secure the pager. A power up alert from the pager indicates it is ready for programming.
