When the pager is turned on, a red Power LED will start flashing and continue at a regular interval. Once a low battery condition is detected, the LED will begin flashing at a ¼ second interval. In this low battery state, the pager alert lengths all change to a 1 second alert. To stop an audible or vibrating alert, the user only needs to press the Reset button. If configured, the red LED’s will continue to flash until the pager is returned to the charger base.
Up to 10 of the Gearstar pagers can be stacked on top of one another and all charged at the same time. Full recharge time can vary from 8 to 12 hours and the batteries will not be damaged by overcharging.
An Out of Range indicator can be programmed into the pager to alert the user of being out of the paging system’s coverage area. Other programmable options for the Out of Range indicator include the alert type (beep, vibrate, or flashing LED) and the length of time the pager will alert when out of range.
