Spok MAXPage Transmitter

The Spok MAXPage is a stand-alone desktop transmitter for use in small to medium sized paging systems. Adjustable from 2 to 4 watts, the powerful transmitter is capable of covering an area of up to 1 mile. The MAXPage has a durable injection molded housing, contains a numeric keypad with 19 backlit silicon keys, and a 2-line by 16 character backlit LCD display. The transmitter is available in VHF or UHF frequency bands and POCSAG digital or 2-Tone voice coding formats. Messaging capability includes alphanumeric, numeric, tone only, and voice pages, depending upon system configuration.

Manufacturer: Spok

The transmitter has the capability to store up to 1000 pagers in its database.  20 groups of pagers can be configured.  Digital messages can contain up to 200 characters per message.  It contains four dry contact alarm inputs and once activated, a predefined alphanumeric message can be sent to a single pager or a group of pagers.

The MAXPage can be enhanced with a wide range of optional features.  Numeric and tone only digital messages can be sent using the MAXPage’s built-in numeric keypad.  An optional keyboard accessory is available to add alphanumeric messaging capability to the system. Another option is adding a user interface software package to manage pager information, groups, alarms, settings, reminders, and message dispatch all at the click of a mouse.

POCSAG digital is the standard coding scheme for the MAXPage transmitter, but an optional 2-Tone Voice protocol can also be used.  The MAXPage has a built-in microphone, so voice messages can be dispatched through the local transmitter.  Voice messages can also be sent remotely from any standard telephone line by dialing the MAXPage terminal directly, if the optional PBX interface is installed.  An optional RS232 serial interface can be used to receive and re-transmit messages from devices using TAP, Scope, or COMP paging protocols.
