ICOM IC-F14 & IC-F24 Portable Radios

The Icom IC-F14 (VHF version) and IC-F24 (UHF version) are small but powerful hand-held portable 2-way radios for general communications use. Built around an aluminum die-cast chassis and covered with a tough polycarbonate casing, the portables are very durable and resistant to both shock and vibration. The physical size of the portable radios is a compact 4.7 x 2.1 x 1.5 inches (with the battery pack).

Manufacturer: ICOM

Operation of the F14 and F24 is simple with only 3 buttons, a volume knob, and a channel selector or channel switch to control.  The radios are available in two configurations.  The IC-F14 and IC-F24 have a rotary type channel selector while the IC-F14/S and IC-F24/S have a toggle type channel switch.  16 channels are available if configured for the F14/F24 rotary style channel selector and 4 channels are available in the F14S/F24S switch type configuration.  Narrow or wideband channel spacing is programmable on each channel.

All versions of the radio come standard with the BP-231 Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery pack.  The BP-231 should give 8-9 hours of operation when using Tx: Rx: Standby modes of 5: 5: 90 with its 1150 mA/hrs capacity.  A higher capacity BP-232 at 2000 mA/hrs is available as an option. A Low Battery Beep alarm feature adds an audible alert to a blinking LED when a low battery condition is detected.  The radios are MDC 1200 compatible and use built-in 2-Tone, 5-Tone, CTCSS and DTCS coding schemes.  Optional voice scrambler, man down and DTMF features are also available.
